Jay joins WBAL TV 11 News as an addition to the weekend team.Before coming to Baltimore, he made pitstops forecasting at WHBF-TV in Rock Island, Ill., WBMG-TV in Birmingham, Al., WPDE-TV in Myrtle Beach, S.C., and WDIV-TV in Detroit as a freelance meteorologist.Jay also worked at Capital News 9 in Albany, N.Y., where he received honorable mention as a favorite local weathercaster.
Jay earned a Bachelor's Degree in mass communications from St. Cloud State University in Minnesota. He has earned a Certificate of Broadcast Meteorology from Mississippi State University and holds the Seals of Approval from both the American Meteorological Society and National Weather Association.Jay is a full member of the American Meteorological Society and the National Association of Black Journalists.Jay has also spent time in the classroom teaching secondary education courses in communications.
