Often when we think of those who are hungry or in need, we envision irresponsible adults, the victims of poor choices. In reality, children and seniors are disproportionately represented among the hungry, with children representing 81 percent of those going hungry across Maryland. Nearly half of those households have one employed adult. These are not the victims of poor choices, they are people in need of help.Like so many feeling the affects of today's economy, the shelves at the Maryland Food Bank are critically low.WBAL-TV and our sister station 98 Rock have joined forces with the Baltimore Ravens for the annual Ravens Family Food and Fund Drive on Sunday, Nov. 23.
Bring your non-perishable food to M&T Bank stadium where donations will be accepted at all gates prior to the game vs. the Philadelphia Eagles. Donations will also be accepted at the 98 Rock booth.Thanksgiving is about many things including food and football. This year, please help feed the hungry while rooting the Ravens to victory. Your donation will help needy families this holiday season. If you are not going to the game, visit the Maryland Food Bank for more information.
