Rodney Rogers, a former NBA and college basketball star, is paralyzed, ESPN and the News & Observer in Raleigh-Durham, N.C., reported.Dave Odom, Rogers' former NCAA coach at Wake Forest, told the News & Observer that Rogers was paralyzed from the shoulders down as the result of an all-terrain vehicle accident.According to the newspaper, Rogers was riding in the woods in rural North Carolina last week when he fell off the vehicle.
Rogers, 37, had a 12-year NBA career, during which he played for the Denver Nuggets, L.A. Clippers, Phoenix Suns, Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, New Orleans Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers.He entered the league as a first-round draft pick by the Nuggets in 1993 and retired after the 2004-2005 season.As a college player at Wake Forest, Rogers was named the 1993 ACC Player of the Year and received All-America honors.
