Baltimore City police are trying to find a teenager who they believe is connected to two possible attempted abductions Thursday night.

Sky Team 11 reported Thursday night that a man tried to remove the clothes of an 8-year-old girl when she went to retrieve a ball from the woods.

Police said the incident at the Waldorf School was in a wooded area. A teacher who saw the attempted abduction ran to help the girl and scared the man off. The girl was not hurt.

"When the suspect -- a black male standing approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall, wearing a long black T-shirt and blue jeans -- called her by her name," Baltimore City police Detective Donny Moses said Friday. "With that information, we do believe he had been out there for a while, and when she approached him, he grabbed her, put his hand over her mouth and actually pulled her into the wood line."

Police on the ground and in the air began searching the area for the man when another attempted abduction, this time of a 12-year-old, was reported.

Authorities told 11 News Thursday night that the same man involved in the first incident was involved in the second incident.

"Approximately an hour later, in the 4800 block of Greenspring Avenue, we had a 12-year-old black female walking in the block when the same suspect grabbed her and attempted to pull her in the wood line, at which time, she fought and she ran back toward Greenspring Avenue yelling. At which time, a person driving his vehicle stopped to help her out and took her home," Moses said.

The next day, police still haven't made any arrests and they have no suspects. But they do believe a teenager is responsible for both attempted abductions, WBAL-TV 11 News reporter Rob Roblin reported Friday.

Police are asking for the public's help, and they especially want to talk to the man who helped the second girl, Roblin reported. To contact police about this case, call (443) 984-7106.
