Former Raven Wanted For Alleged Kidnapping Conspiracy

Victim Shot In Back, Ended Up On Cal Ripken's Doorstep

Authorities allege that a former Baltimore Ravens' running back was involved in the Thanksgiving kidnapping and shooting of a naked man who ended up on the doorstep of retired Orioles shortstop Cal Ripken's house. Police now seek the public's help to locate the former football player.

Baltimore County police announced Monday afternoon that they are searching for Dameon Deshaun Hunter, 25, for his alleged involvement in the Nov. 27, 2003, kidnapping of Brian Robbins. Hunter faces charges of conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

MORE INFORMATION
Officers responded to the Riderwood area of Baltimore County for a report of a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Robbins, 20, of Baltimore, told investigators that three men abducted him from Baltimore City and kept him for several hours inside a house.

The victim told police that he was beaten, struck with a gun and cut with a knife while at the house. The suspects drove Robbins to Riderwood and, before being released, Robbins said he was told to undress and, while running, a gunshot struck him in the back. Robbins said he sought help in the neighborhood, and ended up at Ripken's house.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the abductors used Robbins' cell phone during the incident. As a result, police on Dec. 18 identified William H. Gunn as the alleged shooter. Phone records show that Hunter and Gunn were involved in the kidnapping, according to police. Gunn is currently in police custody.

Police describe Hunter as black, 6 feet tall, 220 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

Hunter played only in one game and the Ravens released him last August.

Anyone with information regarding Hunter is asked to call the Baltimore County Police Department by dialing (410) 307-2020 or Metro Crime Stoppers by dialing (866) 7-LOCKUP.
