Researchers Find Certain Vitamins Weaken Cancer Treatments

Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy or other treatments might want to avoid antioxidant and vitamin supplements, according to a recent review of clinical trials.Previous research has suggested that antioxidants can help fight cancer.But the latest findings show the supplements may actually reduce the effectiveness of the cancer treatment.
Antioxidants include beta-carotene, lycopene and vitamins A, B, C and E.Researchers said large human trials are needed to show the real impact vitamins and antioxidants have on cancer patients and their treatment.
